Carol Tonight, there was a story on the news about hypnotherapy and it reminded me I still needed to let you know how I am doing. As you might remember, I came to see you last January. I was set to start firefighter school and had a terrible fear of heights since childhood. Well, as of last summer, I've been Firefighter I & II certified in the state of Missouri! I made it through a bunch of roof activities including working off a roof ladder on a steeply-pitched roof to ventilate it. I even have video of that to prove it! After six months of fire school, I became Fire I & II certified which will allow me to work anywhere in Kansas or Missouri as a firefighter! :)

And get this, I had also mentioned my fear of water & swimming to you but we didn't get to work on it that day. But, the confidence of making it through my fear of heights also pushed me to learn to swim. I signed up with the parks department, and I ended up with a really good instructor and after a couple of weeks I was swimming! I was so terrified at the beginning to even put my face in the water...but worked through it using some of the techniques you taught me, and after 33 years, now I know how!

I'm now working part-time as an EMT for an ambulance and started Paramedic school four weeks ago. I'm looking for a full-time firefighter job...something I've wanted to do since I was a kid! Now, thanks to your help, I have all the certifications I need to do it! :)
